Essure Reversal

Lakeshore Surgical Center was the first to reverse an Essure Tubal Ligation on November 5th 2007. Our first “Essure” baby was born January 27th 2009 and this was widely reported in the press because of the reported inability to reverse, as Essures are supposed to be permanent.

Essure Removal

The Essure Removal procedure is for patients who would like their Essure coils removed but have their tubes ligated so that they will NOT become pregnant again. The Essure Removal procedure was developed due to the increased demand from patients who wanted their Essure coils removed.

We found Lakeshore Surgical Center after battling health issues related to Essure for five years. The surgery gave me back my life! We decided on having the reversal instead of just the removal because we were open to having one […]

Tubal Ligation Reversal

Tubal ligation reversal is a procedure that reconnects the fallopian tubes in women who have previously undergone tubal ligation (had their “tubes tied”). Reconnecting the fallopian tubes restores their natural function, allowing sperm to reach and fertilize an egg. Reversals are successful in approximately 80 percent of women undergoing surgery, but success depends upon a number of factors including age and anatomy.

Tubal Reversal

Tubal Reversal or Tubal Ligation Reversal is a surgery done on the female after she has elected to have her tubes tied (tubal ligation) as permanent birth control. This change in her decision to reconnect the fallopian tubes to try to help restore her fertility.

If you never had your tubes tied, you would have a 2% chance of getting pregnant in your fallopian tubes instead of your uterus (the normal place to get pregnant). With tubal ligation reversal surgery your risk is about 6% or three times normal. As soon as you have a positive pregnancy test let us know so we can coordinate tests to make sure you do not have an ectopic or tubular pregnancy.

Early tubular pregnancy can be managed with drugs that make surgery unnecessary. Experience with patients with only one fallopian tube who become pregnant in that tube and are treated medically, confirms that pregnancy can be achieved using a fallopian tube that has been cleared of an ectopic pregnancy using medicine.

Please contact us for more information about this procedure.
